Our Beginning
The journey of Orekscollections started in Nigeria around 2001. After the birth of my second child, I stepped away from full-time employment to pursue my passion for retail. I opened my first fashion business, specialising in corporate wear, party wear, evening wear, shoes, handbags, and accessories. At a time when ready-to-wear fashion was not yet widely available, I was privileged to serve women who wanted quality, elegance, and confidence in the way they dressed.
A New Chapter
For five wonderful years, I built that business before making the life-changing decision to relocate to the United Kingdom. As part of that transition, I sold my business and embraced a new chapter.
Rooted in Heritage
Looking back, I realise that fashion and retail have always been part of who I am. Entrepreneurship runs in my family. I grew up surrounded by women who traded in beautiful fabrics, lace, and clothing sourced from countries around the world. My sisters and relatives have also been involved in fashion, so this passion has always been deeply rooted in my heritage.
A Calling & A Dream
When I arrived in the UK, life took a different direction. I pursued a career in nursing—a profession I genuinely love because caring for people has always been close to my heart. Nursing has been fulfilling, but the dream of returning to fashion never left me. For almost twenty years, the desire remained alive within me.
The Confirmation
Last year, after much prayer and seeking God's direction, I received the confirmation I had been waiting for. I knew it was time to step back into the world of fashion and retail. That decision gave birth to OreksCollection.Since then, we have witnessed God's faithfulness in extraordinary ways. Door after door has opened, and what started as a dream has grown into a thriving business. As we approach our first anniversary this August, our hearts are filled with gratitude for how far God has brought us.
